A closer look at our jewellery materials

At Regalia Collection, we are dedicated to providing jewellery of exceptional quality, crafted with high quality metals and finished with carefully applied plating.

We work with trusted suppliers to ensure every piece of jewellery in our collection meets high standards of craftsmanship, letting you shop with confidence.

Here's a more detailed overview of the materials currently used in our collections:

Sterling silver: Our silver jewellery is made from sterling silver, consisting of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, such as copper or zinc, to enhance strength and durability. Each piece weighing above 7.78 grams is hallmarked in accordance with UK hallmarking laws, ensuring authenticity and quality. For lighter items below this weight, hallmarking is not required but many of them are hallmarked.

Gold Jewellery: 9-carat gold contains 37.5% pure gold, making it the most affordable option for gold jewellery. Its light-yellow hue is complemented by a higher percentage of other metals, which enhances its strength and durability, making it ideal for crafting jewellery.

Gold plated jewellery:  When a product is referred to as being gold-plated this indicates that the article of jewellery is electroplated or mechanically sheathed with gold, either yellow or rose in colour. The quality of the gold used is typically 10, 14, 18 or 22 carat. Pieces we describe as ‘gold-plated’ have gold plating over a sterling silver base. These pieces will therefore be correctly marked as silver.

Rhodium Plating: Rhodium, a rare and precious metal from the platinum family, is highly reflective, silver-toned, and resistant to tarnish and corrosion. Some of our products feature rhodium plating, offering a sleek grey finish, exceptional durability, and long-lasting brilliance,

Protective coatings:

To enhance durability and achieve stunning finishes, many of our jewellery pieces are treated with high-quality coatings. These include:

E-Coating Also known as electro-coating or electro deposition, this technique uses an electrical current to evenly coat metal surfaces with an organic lacquer. It preserves plating color and extends the life of jewellery by providing a smooth, consistent, and durable finish.

Nano-Molecular Protective Treatment A high-performance coating designed to provide durability and protection. Similar to E-coating, it enhances the longevity of jewellery by delivering superior resistance and preserving its finish with advanced technology.

Stones and materials:

CZ Crystals: Cubic zirconia, commonly known as CZ, is a synthetic diamond alternative that offers many of the same appealing qualities as a diamond, but at a much more affordable price.

Moissanite: Is a lab-created gemstone that surpasses cubic zirconia in brilliance, durability, and overall quality, offering a more luxurious alternative while remaining more affordable than diamonds.

Natural stones: Many of our products feature natural stones in their description. Where named this is a natural stone. Stones include natural amethyst, blue topaz etc

Synthetic stones: We use some synthetic stones in our products such as alexandrite or sapphires. This is stated clearly in the product description and described as ‘Synthetic"

Pearls and Pearl Materials:

Our jewellery features a variety of pearl types, each offering unique beauty and characteristics:

Natural Freshwater Pearls: Formed within freshwater mussels using nacre, these pearls are durable and display a natural white shade that resists discoloration with proper care.

Cultivated Real Pearls: Designed for a cleaner, rounder shape, they offer timeless elegance.

Mother of Pearl: Made from the iridescent nacre lining of mollusc shells, this material adds a luminous touch. While natural Mother of Pearl is preferred, synthetic alternatives are occasionally used for affordability.

Shell Pearls: Crafted by grinding oyster shell lining into powder, then shaped, dyed, and coated with natural nacre and a protective layer for enhanced lustre.

Faux Pearls: Affordable and imitation pearls, made from materials like glass, ceramic, or plastic, are coated to mimic the look of genuine pearls.

While we take great care in sourcing high-quality materials, we cannot guarantee that our products will be suitable for individuals with specific allergies or sensitivities. It is the customer's responsibility to verify the materials listed for each product before purchasing.
